Games for #WorldRefugeeDay

Ok, tomorrow I promise we’ll really talk about low-cost, no-code tools that let you and your team get started making your own videogames.

But today, on World Refugee Day, I wanted to bring your attention to this amazing project by Lual Mayen:

Lual’s a former Sudanese refugee living in DC, and he’s creating games where your actions in the game give aid to refugees in real life. I met Lual when he swung through Austin a few years ago, and he’s an amazingly sweet and kind man.

You can read more about his and his family’s story here.

There’s a lot to learn from this story about games and dreams and giving, but I don’t want to analyze too much right now.

If you’re so inclined, the link to the Salaam kickstarter is here.

May we all be safe and free,
